Brandon Saad Dishes Sweet Spin-O-Rama Pass to Patrick Kane for Highlight Reel Goal (Video)
Who doesn’t like a good spin-o-rama, am I right? The term was coined by the legendary CBC hockey announcer Danny Gallivan, and perhaps the most famous practitioner of the move was Hall of Famer Denis Savard.
Anyway, today we’ve got a pretty sweet spin-o-rama highlight for you, and it comes courtesy of the Chicago Blackhawks’ Brandon Saad. Last night in Minneapolis against the Wild, Saad skated around two defenseman in the neutral zone to give himself a partial break away. However, when Wild defenseman Ryan Suter closed the gap on him, Saad deked left, spun around, and dished a backhander to Patrick Kane—no stranger to the spin-o-rama himself—who put the puck in the open net.
Sounds sweet, right? Well, it is. However, to fully appreciate it, you are going to have to ignore the fact that 19-year-old rookie defenseman Mathew Dumba somehow failed to intercept the pass even though it was practically right on his stick. If you can do that, then you’re going to love this goal.

Great play, terrible defense. Goal still counts. Hawks win, 5-1.
