NFL Quarterbacks Conversation on Facebook: Week 10 Round-up
Colts Linebacker Erik Walden Headbutts Helmet-Less Titans Player (GIF)
Things got a little testy last night between the Colts and Titans. And by “testy,” I mean Indianapolis fell behind early—again—so linebacker Erik Walden decided to vent his frustration by ripping the helmet off Tennessee tight end Delanie Walker…and then headbutting him while his own helmet was still on.
No joke. Midway through the second quarter, with Tennessee up 14-3 and threatening to score again, Walden grabbed Walker’s face mask, ripped his helmet off, threw it, and then whacked Walker right on the chin with the dome of his own helmet.
See for yourself:
Serioiusly, NFL, is this what we’re doing now? Guys with helmets headbutting guys without helmets? Because I’ve got to be honest with you, that’s dirty. You’ve got to be some kind of major a-hole to pull off something like that.
As you can see, the refs were right there and threw the flag immediately, charging Walden with unnecessary roughness. That cost the Colts 15 yards, but you’ve got to think the NFL is going to levy some additional fine or suspension on him, because this kind of thing is insane. You could do major damage like this and threaten a guy’s livelihood.
