Auburn Beats Alabama in Iron Bowl With 100-Yard Field Goal Return For TD by Chris Davis (GIFs)
Yesterday, the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 4 ranked Auburn Tigers faced off in the latest edition of the Iron Bowl, and the game was as exciting as anyone could have hoped. That fact especially applies to the final seconds of the game, which had Auburn coming out on top after an incredible 100-yard field goal return for a touchdown on the final play of regulation.
It happened as the game seem poised to go into overtime, with Tide kicker Adam Griffith aiming for a 57-yard field goal to break the tie. But instead of merely missing the field-goal, the football ended up in the hands of the Tigers’ Chris Davis, who caught the ball in the back of the end zone and proceeded to run 100 yards for a touchdown, winning the game and crushing the spirits of Alabama fans all over the country. As for Auburn, they will continue on to the SEC title game.
