Chris Davis’ Field-Goal Return TD at the Iron Bowl Gets the ‘Tecmo Bowl’ Treatment (Video)
One Punt Return, Three Insane Bone-Crushing Blocks (Video)
A couple weeks ago we showed you that even an NCAA D-II football team is capable of producing incredible highlights.
Today we’re going to do the same for NCAA D-III football.
On Saturday, the Linfield Wildcats (McMinnville, Oregon) hosted the Hamden-Sydney Tigers (Virginia) in the second round of the Division III playoffs and, despite being ranked third in the country, the Wildcats actually found themselves trailing the Tigers 21-10 at the half. However, in the second half they stormed back to beat Hamden-Sydney, 31-21.
So what got the rally going? Oh, just a 39-yard punt return early in the third quarter that featured not one, not two, but three ridiculous, bone-crushing blocks. The guy running the ball back didn’t score on the play, but you know this got the juices flowing because after that it was all Linfield.
Take a look:
Yep, that will spark a comeback alright.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Linfield’s next opponent will be Wisconsin-Whitewater. I doubt you’ll find it on TV, but if you live anywhere near McMinnville, Oregon, you can always go watch the game in person. It’s no SEC title game, but I bet you’d have a good time.
