Stat Line of the Night — 12/1/2013 — Peyton Manning
At the end of the year, when they ask how the West was won in the AFC, the answer will be simple: With Peyton Manning‘s arm.
That arm of Peyton’s was busy tearing apart the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense on Sunday, as the Broncos quarterback completed 22 of his 35 passes for 403 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions during Denver’s 35-28 victory, giving them wins in both meetings between these two AFC West rivals this season.
With a 10-2 record, the Broncos now sit one win ahead of the Chiefs and they also own the head-to-head tiebreaker between the two teams. As for Manning, he now has 41 passing touchdowns on the season, leaving him just nine behind Tom Brady‘s single season record of 50 with four games remaining.
His performance in week 13 puts him on pace to smash the record, and it also earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, December 1, 2013.
