Who Knew Panthers Defensive End Greg Hardy Played College Ball at Hogwarts? (Video)
That Greg Hardy, he’s quite the jokester.
If you didn’t watch the New Orleans Saints whip the visiting Carolina Panthers last night on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, you didn’t just miss some vintage Drew Bress. You also missed one of the most amusing player introductions anyone can recall.
You know the ones I’m talking about, right? The ones during the opening drives of the game where the starting players introduce themselves, saying their name and where they went to school? Well, last night, Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy didn’t introduce himself as Greg Hardy. And he didn’t say where he actually played college ball, which was Mississippi in case you were wondering.
Instead, Hardy gave this introduction:
Yep. He’s the kraken, and apparently he went to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry…just like Harry Potter.
Of course, this introduction didn’t come completely out of the blue. You see, back in the summer during training camp, Hardy actually gave the entire defensive line of the Carolina Panthers a nickname—MonStrz Inc.—then he gave everyone on the line a monster-themed nickname. And his was kraken.
As for the Hogwarts thing, though…yeah, that was out of the blue.
