Videobombing Fail: Red Wings Fan Gets Taken Out by Icy Patch at Winter Classic (Video)
Hockey Fan Catches Puck in One Hand While Holding Sleeping Infant in the Other (Video)
You really don’t see many videos of fans catching hockey pucks. I suspect this probably has a lot to do with the fact that, if you try, the puck is more likely to kill you than end up as a souvenir in your den. And on the rare occasion that a puck does fly over the glass and get caught by a fan, it’s hardly notable.
However, today’s example is different. No, the puck isn’t going 80 mph when it gets caught. But the fan who catches it is holding a baby. So that’s something, right?
It happened at an AHL game between the Norfolk Admirals and Bridgeport Sound Tigers on January 4. A man in a Bridgeport Sound Tigers Anders Nilsson sweater sitting in the front row stood up and snagged a puck that came fluttering over the glass while holding his infant.
Aside from the fact that the guy was wearing a customized minor league hockey goalie jersey, it was all pretty badass. Take a look:
