Johnny Manziel Has Declared for the 2014 NFL Draft, So Texas A&M Made this Video Tribute
Well, it’s official. Johnny Manziel is foregoing his final two years of NCAA eligibility to enter the 2014 NFL draft.
It’s probably a smart move. Next year Johnny Football would be up against Jameis Winston, who now has a National Championship to go along with his Heisman. This year experts have Manziel as one of the 20 best players in the draft and the second best QB after Teddy Bridgewater. Moreover, there are so many NFL teams in need of a quarterback that, this year, Manziel is pretty likely to be a top 10 pick. In fact, some early projections have him going as high as No. 4 or even No. 2. So if you’re Johnny Football, why not take the leap and start making millions of dollars right now?
Of course, despite the fact that they knew it was coming, this loss isn’t going to be easy for fans of the Texas A&M Aggies. Manziel made Aggieland the center of the college football world for the last two years, and they treated the kid like a living legend. Hell, just look at this Johnny Football tribute Texas A&M put up on YouTube:
That’s a nice highlight reel. I mean, who doesn’t love Drake?
However, with all due respect, I’m pretty sure they do make trophies for pretty much everything in college football. The Heisman is one. That crystal football they give to the National Champions—which Manziel will never hold—would be another.
