Watch the Houston Rockets Mascot Scare the Sh!% Out of the Rockets Players (Video)
If you ask me, most sports mascots do a good enough job scaring people simply by existing. This is especially true in the NBA, where some of the mascots are downright disturbing. However, someone in the Houston Rockets marketing or PR department really took things to the next level by using the team’s mascot—a giant inflatable bear named Clutch—to play a pretty good prank on the players.
At the beginning of the day, as players were filing in for practice around 9:00 A.M., they set the mascot up next to a sign that said “Welcome Suite Holders.” This made them think Clutch was just there for some team spirit decoration. However, when the players started filing out after lunch, they got quite the shock.
Take a look:
Personally, I think it would have been amazing if Clutch had returned the favor and kicked Dwight Howard in the crotch, because Dwight is kind of a douche. But all in all, it was still a pretty great prank.
