2014 Sochi Olympics: Brazilian Bobsled Involved in Scary Crash (GIF)
The bobsled track at the 2014 Olympics Games in Sochi has proven to be awfully tricky for most of the athletes competing on it throughout the course of the past week. That has especially been the case for the less-refined bobsled teams taking part in the Winter Olympics, like Brazil’s two-women bobsled team, who were involved in this frightening crash during a training run on Sunday.
Check it out:
Somehow the two women were able to escape this scary incident unscathed, and they are currently taking part in day one of the two-women bobsled event.
No crashes yet, but I can tell you that they came awfully close during their second run, which I just so happened to catch on television moments ago. They currently sit in second-last place after two runs with a combined time of 2:00.02 — nearly two seconds behind the next closest competitor.
A spot on the podium is obviously out of the question, but I’m guessing they’re probably less concerned about winning medals, and more concerned about not losing their lives.
Let’s all hope these two Brazilian women make it out of Sochi in one piece.
