Boston Celtics’ St. Patrick’s Day Uniforms Revealed
St. Patrick’s Day is a big deal around the Boston Celtics‘ home turf, so for the last few years they have donned some special uniforms for the occasion. This year, courtesy of sports reporter Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, we have a first look at this year’s Irish pride uniforms.
The Boston Celtics’ St. Patrick’s Day 2014 uniforms, with their green and gold trim color schemes, probably won’t surprise very many people. But then again, there are the sleeves, which are part of the uniforms’ homage to the ones worn by the original 1946-47 Celtics. And the sleeves serve another purpose, too, as the team is said to be trying out the short-sleeve look for their regular uniforms. And St. Patrick’s Day gives them a perfect opportunity to do just that.
If you like the look of the Celtics’ St. Patrick’s Day uniform as worn by Jerryd Bayless above, you’ll be pleased to know it’ll be seen on the court on March 14th against the Suns, March 16th against the Pelicans, and on St. Patrick’s Day itself, March 17th, against the Mavericks.
