AHL Player Crawls Across Pavement, Past Cops to Fight Opponent (Video)
London Knights Goalie Anthony Stolarz Slashes Spitfires’ Josh Ho-Sang in the Back of the Head (Video)
The London Knights and the Windsor Spitfires sure know how to keep OHL Commissioner David Branch busy.
On Sunday, during Game 2 of their first-round playoff series, an on-ice brawl between the two clubs forced Branch to hand down a five-game suspension to Spitfires rookie forward Cristiano DiGiacinto for his role in the melee.
And less than a few hours after announcing the suspension on Tuesday, it was back to the video room for the league’s commissioner, where he will now be looking at a nasty one handed slash delivered by Knights goaltender Anthony Stolarz to the back of the head of Windsor’s Josh Ho-Sang during Game 3 last night.
Check it out:
Surprisingly, Ho-Sang was able to remain in the game following the slash. And perhaps even more surprising is the fact that Stolarz only received a two-minute minor for slashing on the play.
Don’t expect that to be the only punishment he receives, however, as the Knights may have earned the 10-2 victory and the 3-0 series lead, but it’ll likely cost them their starting goaltender for at least a few playoff games.
