Dan Carcillo Scores Goal, Trolls Flyers Fans (GIFs)
New York Rangers roughian Dan Carcillo doesn’t score a lot of goals. This season he wracked up 100 penalty minutes in 57 games but managed just four goals.
So a playoff goal against a former team? For Carcillo that’s a big deal, and last night he made the most of it.
The Rangers were up 3-1 against the Flyers with 12 minutes to go in Game 3 when Carcillo took a hooking penalty, giving the Flyers a power play and a chance to get back in the game. However, the Flyers couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity, and 20 seconds after he got out of the box, Carcillo scored on Ray Emery to put the game out of reach.
How did he celebrate? By trolling some Flyers fans, of course.
Carcillo immediately went over and smashed his stick against the glass. Then he stood there and stared down a rowdy Philly fan who was flipping him the double-bird.
I was going to say something like, “Carcillo really knows how to get a rise out of people,” but then I realized these are Philly fans we’re talking about. Even Mr. Rogers could get a rise out of them.
