DeJuan Blair Got Ejected Last Night, Because Kicking Other Players in the Head Is Illegal in the NBA (Video)
If I had to guess, I’d say DeJuan Blair and Tiago Splitter weren’t the best of friends when they were teammates on the San Antonio Spurs for the last three years.
I say this because, generally speaking, people don’t kick their friends in the head. And last night Blair, who is now a member of the Dallas Mavericks, did precisely that to Splitter.
With just three minutes left in the game and the Mavericks clinging to an 83-82 lead over the NBA’s best team in the regular season, Splitter took a pass at the free throw line and collided with Blair while trying to get past him. The two then fell to the floor and got tangled up with one another, and that’s when it happened. While getting up, Blair extended his legs and kicked Splitter in the side of the head.
Take a look:
Obviously, Blair got ejected for that, and it was a huge blow to the Mavericks at a crucial moment in the game. The guy came off the bench, but he was basically the Mavericks’ best all-around player last night, scoring 12 points to go along with 11 rebounds and two steals in just 16 minutes.
Something tells me Mark Cuban probably sent Blair an irate text after Dallas lost, 93-89.
