Miami Heat Protest Don Sterling’s Racist Remarks Prior to Game 4 vs. Bobcats (Video)

Miami Heat protest Donald Sterling

While all eyes were on the Los Angeles Clippers and how they would handle the ongoing controversy over team owner Donald Sterling, the Miami Heat were also planning to silently speak out on the situation. Similarly to the Clippers, LeBron James and the rest of the Miami Heat players took off their logo shirts and warmed up in inside-out shirts, obscuring the Heat team logo.

The gesture wasn’t quite as pointed as when the Clippers did it, but it still sends a message of solidarity with everyone in the NBA who were offended and outraged by Sterling’s comments.

CNN sports reporter Rachel Nichols tweeted about the protest and included a photo:

You can see video of the Miami Heat’s silent pre-game gesture of protest against Clippers owner Donald Sterling in the video below. I guess this means that if he gets suspended from the Clippers, Sterling won’t be welcome in the Miami Heat locker room either.
