New Low for the Pacers: Paul George Heckled by Pacers Fans in Indiana (Video)
We’re not even out of the first round yet, but the 2014 NBA Playoffs have already yielded a number of surprises. The Mavericks are giving the Spurs absolutely everything they can handle behind Vince Carter, who is 57 years old. The Grizzlies are hanging in there with MVP-to-be Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. And the Blazers are proving more clutch than James Harden, Dwight Howard, and the rest of the Rockets.
However, without a doubt the biggest surprise of the 2014 NBA Playoffs so far is the fact that the Indiana Pacers, who looked poised to finally topple the Miami Heat just four weeks ago, suddenly suck.
After splitting the first four games of their first round series against the Hawks—who finished the regular season with a record of 38-44—the Pacers had a chance to regain control of the series last night at home. However, they did not regain control of the series. They lost to Atlanta again, 107-97, thanks to a horrific second quarter in which they got outscored 41-19.
How bad was it? It was so bad that, by the end of the first half, Pacers fans were actually heckling their best player, Paul George.
Take a look:
Meanwhile in Miami, Dwyane Wade gets five days to rest his knees before having to face either Brooklyn or Toronto.
So much for a title in Indy, huh?
