Brazialian Soccer Mob Throws Toilet From Stands, Killing Fan Instantly (Video)
A Brazilian soccer match between clubs Santa Cruz and Parana turned ugly this past Friday night, as rioting fans somehow managed to dislodge not one, not two, but three toilets, and hurl them into the stands, killing one fan.
Soccer violence isn’t particularly infrequent in South America and Europe, and this once again causes us to wonder why the hell someone would decide to chuck a fifty-pound porcelain object onto a mass of humanity below them. There doesn’t seem to be much sense in trying to get inside their minds.
The killed (murdered?) fan was 26 year-old Paulo Ricardo Gomes de Silva, who was apparently with another person that fled the scene after witnessing Paulo get crushed by the falling toilet.
It’s a little hard to make out what’s going on in the video, but it appears that the second falling toilet is the one that causes the fatality. Take a look:
Of course, Brazil, a bastion of soccer violence, will be hosting the World Cup later this summer, so the focus of the sport is clearly on these types of incidents. If you’re worried about violence in Brazil, either inside or outside the stadium, be vigilant.
Or, better yet, watch it at home on your television.
