As you probably know, Drake is a huge Raptors fan and also their official “brand ambassador,” so he was a very visible presence at all their games during the first round of the NBA playoffs.

However, not everybody knows who Drake is. So yesterday, during ABC’s broadcast of Game 7 between the Raptors and Nets yesterday, reporter Mike Tirico tried to introduce him to the folks at home while also appealing to all the hip young kids by “rapping” like Drake.

Needless to say, it did not go well. In fact, it went so badly that nobody would have even recognized Tirico’s words as an attempt to rap…had Tirico himself not proceeded to talk about it for the next 30 seconds.

Seriously, it was awkward. Tirico just goes on and on until, finally, the guys in the booth show mercy and laugh at his story about his teenage son so he’ll just shut up already.

But Tirico keeps going anyway.

Have a listen:

Brutal. Just brutal.
