Hail Mary

Meet Gary Haynes.

Judging by this brief Vine clip, Gary can do a few things very well. He can throw a football very high, he can run very fast, and he can rock a purple hoodie like it’s no one’s business.

A few days ago, this Junior cornerback (year, cornerback) wasn’t heavily recruited. But that might change thanks to the magic of social media and the proliferation of camera phones. Gary made himself a fun little clip of him heaving a tall Hail Mary (exactly how tall is unclear, as it leaves the frame), and races downfield to catch his own pass.

Check it out:

Of course, we see these recruiting parlor tricks all the time, and this doesn’t mean squat when it comes to his promise as a college player. But it does get his name out there, and it does tell scouts that this kid is fast.

And of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t make the comparison to Mr. Perfect. Because if you’re going to emulate someone, emulate someone named Mr. Perfect.

Here’s what we’re talking about:

If you’re a scout, and you wish to learn more, you can find Gary at Manvel High School in Texas. He’ll be the kid in the purple hoodie.
