Soccer Player Goes Into Stands to Applaud Himself After Scoring a Goal (Video)

Soccer celebration

Forget everything you thought you knew about Lithuanian soccer celebrations. That whole database of information…throw it out. Dzimitry Koob (pictured above) raised the bar for clever goal celebrations with an antic that took him off the field and into the stands. To applaud. Himself. For the goal he scored.

No one can accuse the guy of being too hard on himself.  But in the future, you may want to find a celebration that doesn’t draw attention to the fact that you have NO ONE in your stands.

Take a look at the clip:

Sure, it’s witty and fun, but what would really be impressive is having the balls to do that at an away game, amidst a hostile crowd. That would be a fun little adventure.

But alas, you don’t have to spend your day revolted at carnage you cannot un-see. Instead, you get to watch Dzmitry reward himself with a little clapping for a job well done. We should all treat ourselves so kindly when we succeed.

Yet another positive practice taught to us by Lithuanian club soccer. Those guys never cease to amaze.
