Earlier this week, Alabama Crimson Tide running back Derrick Henry posted a photo of his hot new ride on Instagram, a red Dodger Charger. It’s not exactly a Mercedes or anything, but they do start around $30,000, and Henry is an unpaid college athlete. So people naturally wondered how he plans to make the payments.

On Wednesday, however, this little mini controversy got a hell of a lot more interesting when former West Virginia quarterback and current Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Pat White made a pretty bold claim on Facebook.

A Corvette? Really? As the folks over at Bleacher Report so astutely point out, it’s pretty unlikely that anyone at Alabama under the Mike Shula regime would have committed such an extreme violation of the rules for a guy who isn’t even a blue chip recruit. However, it would be irresponsible for the NCAA and members of the media not to look into it.

So yesterday, a reporter asked current Alabama coach Nick Saban about it—even though he was busy coaching LSU when Henry was being recruited.

Wow, what a shocking response.
