Dodger Dodgeball

In a scene that must have been drawn from Billy Madison, Los Angeles Dodgers players Drew Butera and Dee Gordon took to the playground to have a good-natured game of dodgeball with some kids.

Only, it wasn’t that good-natured.

Filming a scene for an MTV2 show called Off the Bat from the MLB, Gordon and Butera weren’t quite throwing strikes at the tots, but they weren’t exactly tossing underhand, either. Of course, we can only assume that the premise of this scene is its comical juxtaposition, and that MTV2 viewers aren’t tuning in to watch pudgy-faced little moppets get served up some rubber in their doughy grills.

But we’ve been wrong about these things before.

Here’s the video that pits man vs. child on what, strangely enough, is an NYC playground:

The best part is that a dozen or so parents undoubtedly signed release forms that allowed their children to get pummeled by professional athletes.
