Ex-Colt Brandon King Develops ‘Smashman’ App Inspired by Peyton Manning’s Super Bowl Performance

Peyton Manning had an across-the-board terrible game at Super Bowl XLVIII, but his embarrassing performance has resulted in fortune and profit for one of his former teammates on the Indianapolis Colts.

Brandon King, who was with the team back in 2010, was struck with inspiration as he watched the most recent Super Bowl, and decided to make an iPhone game based on the Seattle Seahawks’ 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl XLVIII.

It’s called Smashman, a Flappy Bird-like game that features a hapless quarterback trying to make his way through a nearly impenetrable defensive line.  Sound familiar?

Here’s King in an interview with TMZ Sports:

“It was the most embarrassing game I ever saw him play. I was like ‘let me make an app where it’s almost impossible to score on a defense.’”

The object of the game is to score 44 points, which happens to be one point more than the Seahawks’ point total from this year’s big game. But according to King, reaching that total is extremely difficult. If you want to try for yourself, you can check out the Smashman app at the iTunes store here.  Good luck.
