Rays and Red Sox Get Into Bench-Clearing Fight (Video)

Rays-Red Sox Fight

In sports, as in life, all actions have reactions.

A very clear example of that happened at yesterday afternoon’s game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox. The first domino to fall was the Rays’ Yunel Escobar stealing third base in the bottom of the seventh, when the Rays were already ahead by five runs.

That didn’t sit well with David Ross of the Red Sox, who spoke his mind to Escobar, and things escalated from their until the benches of both teams were empty. After that, the fight didn’t get much farther than the shoving stage, but Escobar got ejected from the game as a result, as well as Jonny Gomes and Sean Rodriguez.

You can see video of the fight courtesy of MLB below. And keep in mind that the Red Sox weren’t able to turn the game around following this fight, losing by a score of 8-5.
