Danny McBride to Return To HBO in a Non-Kenny Powers Role

Kenny Powers

Fans of crass, crass humor and beautiful curly hair will have every reason to celebrate this piece of news: Danny McBride will be taking his foul-mouthed act back to HBO, but not as washed up baseball star Kenny Powers from Eastbound & Down.

Wow. That’s pretty bittersweet right there. Good news and bad. All at once.

Danny McBride will star in the upcoming Vice Principals, which is about actual vice principals but also might be some clever wordplay on vices, or principles, or principals. I’m not sure how much credit to give the show, as I’m just now hearing about it.

The show has been picked up for 18 episodes, which is likely two seasons. That’s enough McBride to get us through those long, Silicon Valley-less stretches.

Well, I guess we should give them credit for managing to score Danny McBride. Danny McBride is just the best.
