Kings’ Drew Doughty Falls Over the Boards and Onto the Ice While Celebrating OT Winner (Video)
Going from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows is something that every professional athlete must endure at some point in their career.
Los Angeles Kings star defenceman Drew Doughty is no exception, as he experienced just that during Game 7 against the Blackhawks last night—with the highest of highs coming when teammate Alec Martinez scored the overtime winner just 5:47 into the extra frame, and the lowest of lows coming seconds later, when Doughty tumbled over the boards and onto the ice while attempting to join the celebration.
Check it out:
I’m guessing it didn’t take Doughty long to get back to feeling the highest of highs after he gained his footing, as he and the rest of his Los Angeles Kings teammates are headed to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in three years, where they will take on the New York Rangers.
The series starts on Wednesday, and you can bet there’ll be plenty more highs and lows to go around for both teams. We’ll be sure to tell you all about it, so stay tuned.
