Brazil’s Neymar Looks Ready for the World Cup (GIFs)
With the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup a week away, teams are now playing their final friendly tune-up matches, trying to finalize their lineups and strategies. And while some teams are still searching for answers—like Mexico, who lost 1-0 to Bosnia-Herzigovenia in Chicago last night—others are looking pretty sharp.
Brazil certainly fits into that latter category. They played poor little Panama yesterday, and it wasn’t even close. Neyar, their 22-year-old superstar of whom great things are expected, looked particularly impressive, opening the scoring 25 minutes in with a free kick that was as perfect as you’ll ever see:
Then, with Brazil up 2-0, Neymar set up Hulk with a perfectly placed no-look backheel pass less than a minute into the second half.

So yeah, Neymar and company look ready. Hopefully they won’t prove to be underachievers like the previous generation of Brazilian superstars.
