The Mountain

He’s not the strongest man in the world, but according to this article, he is the second strongest man in the world. For those unfamiliar with the HBO show Game of Thrones, the man being discussed goes by the name Hafþór “Thor” Júlíus Björnsson, and he plays a character named Ser Gregor Clegane, who is commonly referred to on the show as “The Mountain.”

Would you care to guess why?

The Mountain is a large man. And he’s every bit as strong as he is large. Apparently, he can bench press 500 pounds, squat 770 pounds, and perform a “raw” deadlift of 925 lbs.

You can take a look at one of his intimidating feats right here, in which he deadlifts 994 lbs. of tires at the 2014 Arnold Strongman Classic:

Oh, and he’s 6′ 9″.

He has no background or pedigree in American football, but nonetheless, the Colts took an interest in drafting him, but ended up passing. I mean, you have to at least consider drafting him, right?

Right.
