Losing to Rafael Nadal in the French Open Final Made Novak Djokovic Want to Puke, So He Did (Video)
If there is a more difficult task in pro sports than beating Rafael Nadal at the French Open, I don’t know what it is.
Over the last decade the guy has only lost one match on the clay at Roland Garros while winning an unprecedented nine titles. He set the record for most consecutive wins at the tournament, then he broke it, and his overall record is now 66-1. So with all due respect to Martina Navratilova and her nine Wimbledon titles, given the competitiveness of tennis today, I think it’s safe to say that no man or women in tennis history has been more dominant and difficult to beat at any event than Nadal at the French Open.
Of course, you don’t really need all those words to sum up what it’s like to play Nadal for the French Open title. This video of Novak Djokovic puking during the 2014 Final sums it up perfectly.
Djokovic has four Australian Opens titles, a Wimbledon, and a US Open. However, he doesn’t have a French…and as long as Nadal is still around, he probably won’t any time soon.
