The Intro to ‘Coach’s Corner’ Last Night Was Really F#@$ing Weird (Video)
The CBC’s classic Coach’s Corner segment is often pretty weird. After all, it stars Don Cherry, a man known more for his bizarre suits and irascible disposition than his broadcasting acumen, despite having been on TV for over 30 years.
However, the intro to last night’s segment was by far one of the weirdest things Coach’s Corner has ever produced. For some reason—Cherry indicated that he lost a bet—the guy went out to Times Square in New York and danced. Like an idiot. In front of a camera. In a stupid hat. And sunglasses.
Then, back in the editing room, they mixed this disturbing footage in with shots of players in suits and random hockey highlights having nothing at all to do with the Stanley Cup Finals. (I mean, the Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers did not make the playoffs, correct?)
