Colombia’s Juan Quintero Nearly Scored This Ridiculous Long-Range Golazo vs. Ivory Coast (Video)
Colombia didn’t end up needed a third goal during their World Cup match against Ivory Coast earlier today (they won 2-1), but they nearly got one anyway…
And what a goal it would have been!!!
It came in the 89th minute, as Colombia were on the counter-attack after the referee allowed them to play on following an Ivory Coast foul. And with the ball at Juan Quintero‘s feet just inside the halfway line, and Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry creeping way off his goal line, the Colombian midfielder let a shot go from over 40 yards out that came oh so close to finding the top corner.
Luckily for Barry, he was up to the task, retreating back to his goal in time to punch the ball away. Because of that, we don’t have a new “goal of the tournament” nominee to tell you about, but the footage of Quintero’s long-range attempt is still worth watching.
