DeMarcus Cousins Puts on Freaky Mask and Scares the Hell Out of Various ESPN Employees (Video)
Normally the months of June, July, and August are pretty slow for sports news. That’s partially why ESPN tends to get obsessed with guys like Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel—with only baseball, tennis, and golf to report on, they’ve got to fill the void with something.
Of course, you would think this year would be different, what with the 2014 FIFA World Cup going on. But apparently that’s not the case, because last week they ran a segment on SportsCenter in which Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins put on a creepy Halloween mask and skulked around ESPN’s Los Angeles campus scaring the sh*t out of people.
I don’t know if they just plain ran out of Johnny Football angles, or if somebody just felt like pranking some colleagues and putting it on the air. But it was pretty funny. Cousins got Michelle Beadle pretty good, and he made the gigantic Marcellus Wiley practically jump out of his shoes.
Take a look:
By the way, you may not have noticed because he plays for such a lousy team, but DeMarcus Cousins established himself as one of the league’s premier centers this year. He averaged 22.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game in his fourth season in the NBA, and he’s still only 23 years old.
Of course, some question his attitude and say he’s immature, and I guess a video of him pranking people isn’t going to disprove that theory. But I for one think he’s pretty funny.
