For me it would be legendary Dodgers announcer Vin Scully. It’s not just that he has a great voice, either, although he certainly does. It’s that he has an unbelievable knack for cadence and rhythm that turns life into poetry.
Of course, last week we got to hear Scully call the no-hitter thrown by Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw, and it was really fantastic. See what I mean? If you told the story it would be gross. When Vin tells the story it’s delightful.
Take notes, wannabe baseball announcers. That’s how you do it.
