ESPN3 Will Be All Tiger Woods, All The Time During The British Open
Next week, the British Open tees off at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in England. Not only is it an important tournament because it’s the British Open, but also because it marks Tiger Woods‘ first appearance in a major this year.
This fact has not escaped ESPN’s attention, as the network will be following Tiger’s every shot with its streaming ESPN3 channel.
According to a press release from the network:
“With Tiger Woods making his first start of the year in a major, ESPN3 will offer a feed following Woods for his entire round each day he plays. If Woods does not advance to the weekend, other players will be spotlighted.”
So there you are. It will be focused solely on Tiger, unless he doesn’t do well, then the focus will be on most anyone else.
Given Tiger’s shaky performance since 2010′s “unpleasantness,” it wouldn’t surprise me if they had a shortlist of backups on hand and ready to roll.
Nonetheless, it will be great to see Tiger back out on the course and competing with what seems to be a new generation of players since he first started on the tour.
