World Cup Lukas Podolski Selfie

While his part in Germany’s 2014 World Cup winning team has been limited, Lukas Podolski has made his share of contributions to the German national team. And he continued to do so after his team beat Argentina 1-0 in extra time during today’s World Cup Final, as he managed to snag a pair of brilliant selfies following the victory.

The first one, seen in the tweet straight from Podolski below, was with Bastian Schweinsteiger:

Where most competitors probably would have stopped there, Podolski has the heart of a selfie champion, and managed to top himself with a second selfie. This one is with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and you can see it (also in tweet form from Podolski’s account) below:

Between these two Lukas Podolski selfies, and, uh, winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Sunday was a pretty great day for German athletics.

For the possibility of more post-victory celebratory tweets and/or selfies, you can keep an eye on Lukas Podolski’s Twitter account here.
