NBA To Give Gold Uniform Patches to Franchises That Have Championships (Pic and Tweet)

Screen Shot 2014-07-16 at 11.34.33 AMIn an effort to rub it in to the small-market teams that have never hoisted a trophy, the NBA seems to be favoring the decision to bestow upon championship-winning teams a small gold emblem that signifies a prior championship.

Hmm. That sounds kinda cool.

The move was popularized by soccer leagues, both club and international, that would administer uniform stars to teams that one in club or international (World Cup) championships. Sort of like being made in the Russian mob. I can dig it.

Check out the image. It’s a small enough marking that it’s pretty hard to get worked up over it.
