Tracy McGrady Pitches a Very Dubious Strikeout in a Minor League Game, Promptly Retires (Video)
Remember Tracy McGrady the basketball player? The guy who seemingly had every tool in the kit as a tall guard, but couldn’t stay healthy long enough to lead a team? He’s back. As a pitcher. In a minor league All-Star game. Yes, as a gimmick.
I mean, he seems to be a sort-of okay player for a regular dude, but even by minor-league standards, he’s below-average. But he’s got a name, so the Sugar Land (two words, folks) Skeeters (really?) rounded him up for their makeshift all-star game which just pitted the Skeeters against some pretty good minor league players from around the area.
McGrady participated in the home run derby, and the less said about that, the better.
But he also took to the mound and got a strikeout. I say “got” because it was pretty much given to him. Take a look at the third strike for yourself:
He then retired from the minor leagues. (Really.)
What a great story.
