Vin Scully Gets Standing Ovation When He Announces He’s Returning As Dodgers Announcer for 66th Season (Video)

Play-by-play announcers may not hold the clout they once did, but that doesn’t make the old guard any less iconic or revered, and no one exemplifies that better than Dodgers announcer Vin Scully.

In a multilingual announcement made during last night’s Dodger game vs. Atlanta, the crowd learned that the great Vin Scully will be coming back to call games for another season.

His 66th season, more specifically. It’s hard to imagine 66 years of life, let alone 66 years in one line of work. I guess when you’re the best in the game, you find reasons to stick around.

Congrats to Vin and to the Dodgers fans, who get to enjoy the familiar voice for at least one more season.
