Lance Stephenson Adopts the ‘Defense Is for Suckers’ Philosophy with His Cherry-Picking (Video)

Anyone familiar with the ear-blowing, mildly petulant Lance Stephenson won’t be surprised to learn that he didn’t exactly hurt himself playing defense in a summer league game. While I want to rail on him for the lack of effort, I’m not sure that a borderline all-star should be hurting themselves running the court in July for some team called “Primetime” in a league called Pro City NYC.

Maybe Stephenson was saving his breath so he could blow extremely gently into someone’s ear. You know, like this:

Or, maybe he used that extra energy to score a ton of points cherry picking. I’m not saying that refusing to play defense is some grand strategy, but they couldn’t hang one guy back to keep Lance from getting 40+?
