Andre Reed, a longtime resident on the perennial list of HOF snubs, shook that dubious distinction this weekend, finally getting inducted into Canton. And he did so in moving fashion, re-partnering with his old QB, Jim Kelly, who just ended chemotherapy a couple weeks ago, to catch a pass.

The moment came after Andre Reed’s speech in which he proclaimed that 12 (Kelly) plus 83 (Reed) always equals 6 (Ugh, THE NUMBER OF POINTS IN A TOUCHDOWN). Kelly then stepped onstage to loft one into Reed’s hands. Fortunately for all involved, Kelly’s throw was competent, and Reed made the grab. Otherwise this would have been really awkward and pitiful.

Here’s the Vine:

A very nice moment for a number of reasons. Nice for acknowledgement of Andre Reed’s career, nice for the reunion between the two Buffalo Bills, and nice to see Jim Kelly up on his feet after (during?) a harrowing bout against cancer. We’re all eager to see these guys connect again in the future.
