Check Out the World’s First (and Second) Ever Triple Backflip on a Mountain Bike (Video)
You might not be all that knowledgeable about BMX or the laws of physics, and I’m certainly no expert. But from what I do know about these subjects, let me assure you: landing a triple backflip on a mountain bike is hard.
Landing a single backflip on a BMX bike is easy for someone who knows what they are doing, and a double is pretty doable. But a triple on a BMX bike is a different story, because by the time you get to that third flip you’re really running out of momentum. That’s why the first triple on a BMX only happened a few years ago.
But we’re not even talking about BMX bikes here. We’re talking about much larger and heavier mountain bikes, which lose momentum even faster than their more compact BMX cousins. Landing a triple backflip on a mountain bike should be almost impossible. But where there’s a will there’s a way, and that brings us to the video you’re about to watch.
The folks as Nitro Circus had the will, while Ethan Godfrey and Tyler Roberts had the way. So they made a little history…but not before some spectacular wipeouts.
Take a look:
Man these guys are insane. But also awesome.
