cows invade soccer pitch interrupt game in peru

Our culture’s lust for selfies these days is driving more and more idiot sports fans out onto playing fields in the middle of games. Was it amusing at first? Sure, I guess so. But now it’s getting pretty old.

That’s why the video you’re about to watch here is so refreshing. For once, we have field invaders who aren’t just trying to snap remarkable selfies to impress their friends.

Of course, the field invaders are cows, so…

Anyway, the video comes to us from Peru, where an (obviously) amateur provincial cup game was recently interrupted for several minutes after a herd of cows stormed onto the pitch and demanded to mill about and munch grass.

Take a look:

Is this a common occurance in Peru? I have no idea. What I do know is that the referees shouldn’t have been so quick to get the cows moving along. That grass was ridiculously tall in some parts. The field could have used some grazing.
