Miami Hurricanes Linebacker Denzel Perryman Destroys Teammate Gus Edwards in Scrimmage…AGAIN (GIF)
Back in April, Miami Hurricanes senior linebacker Denzel Perryman sent a message to his teammates when he obliterated his own teammate in the Hurricanes’ spring game. That message? Live every week like it’s Shark Week.
Now Perryman has done it again. And I don’t mean he’s obliterated another teammate. I mean he’s obliterated the exact same teammate.
During a recent scrimmage, Perryman, who is listed at 6’0″ and 242 pounds, once again laid waste to sophomore running back Gus Edwards, who listed at 6’2″ and 230 pounds.
At this point, Edwards probably has zero confidence in his ability to take the ball to the hole. Take a look:
You certainly have to admire Perryman’s tenacity. However, if I were coach Al Golden, I’d probably tell the guy to dial it down a notch. Intensity is one thing. Leaving a guy shell-shocked is another.
Plus, I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed, but season-ending injuries are pretty common in football, and the more you launch yourself like a missile at your teammates, the more likely you (or your teammate) are to suffer one. It’s basic math.
I certainly don’t blame Perryman, though. As Jadeveon Clowney has shown, all it takes is one epic hit to become a household name.
