Race Car Driver Pulls Up to Opponent and Pushes His Rearview Mirror In (Video)
Unless you’re a hardcore racing junkie, you’ve probably never heard of The 5 Club Mazda MX5 Cup. It’s a European auto racing series that uses only Mazda Miatas and, to quote the website, “puts the focus on driver ability.” (They obviously don’t put the focus on spectators, since there doesn’t appear to be any.)
You don’t have to know anything about this series or racing in general to appreciate this clip, however. If you have an appreciation for gamesmanship and have ever ridden in a car, you’ll probably get a kick out of it.
At the second race of the aforementioned MX5 Cup in Great Britain, driver James Rodgers was trying to pass driver Ben Short on the Hangar Straight at the Silverstone Circuit when Short pulled up next to him and pushed in his left rearview mirror.
Take a look:
Some might call it an act of bad sportsmanship, but I think it’s just one driver having a bit of fun with another.
Either way it’s a pretty slick, extremely awesome move.
