Seahawks Fan Gets Prosthetic Eye with Seahawks Logo on It (Pic)
If you’re like me, you roll your eyes whenever people in the media talk about how great the Seahawks fans are. I mean, it’s not like they came up with the whole “12th Man” thing. The term has been used to describe home field advantage in football for over 100 years (look it up.) And it’s not like Seahawks fans are the only NFL fans who care about their team. They’re just the most obnoxious.
That being said, there is one Seahawks fan to whom I will gladly tip my hat. His name is Bill VandenBush, and in July he demonstrated some extreme love for the Seahawks by getting a prosthetic eye with a Seahawks logo right in the middle—you know, instead of the more traditional iris and pupil look.
The new Seahawks eyeball was actually a gift from his wife on their 10th wedding anniversary. VandenBush lost his eye in Vietnam after getting caught in a firefight while trying to rescue the crew of a downed helicopter, and apparently you have to replace prosthetic eyes every six years.
Of course, VandenBush also has a regular prosthetic eye, which we presume he will wear during the week so as not to freak people the f**k out. But on the weekend it’ll be a different story. “Every game I’ll have it in,” he said. “Or any gathering with Seahawks fans present.”
Now that’s hardcore.
