If you’re a soccer fan then you know a Gareth Bale free kick is a thing of beauty.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any of those at the 2014 FIFA World Cup because Gareth Bale is Welsh, and Wales rarely qualifies for the World Cup. They do, however, have a good chance of qualifying for the 2016 UEFA European Championship.

Don’t get me wrong, Wales certainly won’t finish first in their group, which features Belgium and Bosnia. But a second place finish would also get them into Euro 2016, and a second place finish is a real possibility now that Bosnia has lost to Cyprus.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Wales has one of the best players in Europe on their team. And that brings me back to the work of art that is a Gareth Bale free kick. You see, yesterday Wales fell behind early after Andorra converted a penalty kick. However, Bale scored the equalizer in the 22nd minute. Then, with about 10 minutes left in regulation, he won the game with a free kick that sailed over the wall before suddenly dipping into the net.

The keeper had absolutely no chance:

I don’t know about you, but I want to see more of that (and maybe some of this, too) at Euro 2016.

Go Wales.
