Strictly speaking, a police officer giving boots to a homeless man has nothing to do with sports. However, when that act of charity is witnessed and then publicized by a very famous professional athlete—in this case, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert—then it kinda becomes a sports story, doesn’t it?

Hibbert was driving around Indianapolis on Monday—presumably wondering where the hell his game went and thinking about how much the Pacers are going to suck without Paul George—when he stumbled upon a heartwarming act of charity. A police officer in front of him saw a homeless man standing on the side of the road, pulled his cruiser over, got a pair of shiny boots out of the trunk, and gave them to the man. And Roy Hibbert was able to snap a fantastic photo:

After all the stuff that went down in Ferguson this summer, the world can definitely use a story like this.

Thank you, officer.
