Adrian Peterson Reinstated by Minnesota Vikings for Week 3

Adrian Peterson reinstated

After realizing that they would like to have their elite running back playing for them, the Minnesota Vikings had Adrian Peterson reinstated for week 3. This is following a controversy regarding Peterson’s arrest for abusing his child in what’s believed to be a case of discipline run amok.

The team had Adrian Peterson reinstated after he was indicted and posted bail on counts of beating his son with a “switch” (a flexible branch from a tree) in Houston last week. We posted the pics from the case last week as well.

I suppose this means we can expect to see Peterson on the field next week when the Minnesota Vikings take on the New Orleans Saints, barring some huge backlash or new development (either of which is entirely possible).

As petty as this might seem in light of frequent events, the news of his reinstatement offers some certainty to fantasy footballers everywhere, who weren’t sure what would become of the #1 pick during the controversy. Now, that’s not to say that he won’t be sanctioned by the team or league at some later point, but the league seems more concerned with, uh, other matters than they are with Adrian Peterson reinstated for Minnesota‘s third game. In fact, the league might be just fine with it, considering the profile boost he gives the league.
