Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey is a pretty big star, which begs the question, “Why is he talking to the UT football team during a practice?”

Well, there are a few reasons. For starters, Matthew McConaughey is from Texas, in case you can’t place that oh-so-subtle accent. Also, he LOVES University of Texas football. He can often be found on the sidelines of home and away games alongside fellow actor Rex Linn, pacing around and screaming. And finally, McConaughey is actually an alum, having graduated from UT in 1993.

So he has a fondness for UT football.

Here he is speaking to the team in the middle of  a strange year for the UT football. You could call it a rebuilding year. They’re not terrible, but they’re not good. And everyone, especially Texas fans, expects their team to be good. How do you make an average team good?

That’s right. You get Wooderson from Dazed and Confused to talk to them for a couple minutes and everything sorts itself out.

So here’s the video:

Matthew McConaughey sure seems to be enjoying giving that talk. But then again, he’s Matthew McConaughey; he seems to enjoy everything.
