Ole Miss Goalposts Go on Tour of Oxford After Upset Over Alabama (Pics)

On Saturday, as you may have heard, #11 Ole Miss beat #3 Alabama. And while any school is always thrilled to beat the mighty Crimson Tide, Ole Miss hadn’t beat their SEC rivals in 10 tries. So students there went absolutely bonkers, tearing down both sets of Ole Miss goalposts at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Then they took the goalposts on an epic and very unexpected journey.

One set went straight to Ole Miss’ sacred tailgate area The Grove and remained there, presumably so future fans can make pilgrimages to pay tribute to The Victory.

The other set of Ole Miss goalposts, however, was paraded around the streets of Oxford, Mississippi.

They started out in The Grove…

Then made their way through the streets, past a police car…

To a part of town called The Square…

And, finally, to some dudes’ apartment…

But if you think anybody in Oxford is getting in trouble for the Ole Miss goalposts shenanigans, think again. You already saw the things parading right by a police car. Now check out this Twitter interaction between the kid who got the goalposts back to his apartment and Ole Miss Athletic Director Ross Bjork:

I don’t know about best AD in the country. But Bjork certainly is the coolest.
